[She's been planning this job for weeks, and tonight is the night they decide to change up the security on her. True, she can't account for when some New York socialite is going to decide to use her museum for a last minute birthday bash, but never let it be said she isn't quick on her feet. She dresses to blend in with the elite upper class without a second thought (disguise check: nat. 20) but she managed to get the gay bouncer on her first go-round as well as completely flub her cover (bluff check: crit. fail). She had to wait for the shift change for her second time at the door (bluff check: 16), which was much more fruitful.
Now she just has to make sure she doesn't get caught.
Still, she mingles throughout the party like a pro, mixing and mingling as she goes. It doesn't really matter how long at takes. At the end of the night that diamond is going to be hers.]
{ b | the job }
[She manages to slip back into the museum in the lapse between security teams. Getting back in after the party is over without alerting the guards is cake (move silently check: 17), and she eases her way through the halls with ease. She just barely makes a security camera around the diamond (spot check: 7.5), and pins herself to the far wall.
It's just a few feet further to get to her prize. Again, right now this is all about not getting caught.]
{ c | the afterparty }
[She waits until she's a couple towns over before calling her fence from the car and finding a bar for a celebratory drink. Considering all the last minute hang ups? She herself is surprised she managed to pull that one off. Still, a job well done is a job well done, and she's ready for a beer.
She walks in, slides onto the stool in front of the bartender, and flashes him her best smile.]
Any chance you have a Guinness?
c }
Ugh.] Okay, you're actually boring me to death. So, please leave me alone before I make a preemptive strike.
[Yes, it's rude, but after a couple gape mouthed seconds, he vacates, seeming to understand the preemptive strike she's talking about might include his own death. Success! Somehow the tiny speck of a woman is intimidating as all get out. (Intimidate nat 20!)
She straightens on her stool and swings back to face the bar. And then looks to Felicity.]
What did you order, I can't decide and I only half heard it over the sound of his stupid.
no subject
Guinness. Don't ask me why, but it's the only thing I drink.
no subject
Violet is not a badass, so this might end badly, but whatever, she's going with it anyway.]
Guinness it is.
no subject
To being awesome.
no subject
Oh. Wow. That sure is some beer right there.
Which she knew, she just didn't... intellectualize. Or something. Yep. Beer.]
Um, yeah, that's... an acquired taste.
no subject
Yeah, as I said -- not really sure why I like it.
no subject
[She takes another sip, it's less startlingly beer and maybe a little good. In any case, she's going to finish it. Because she is that stubborn.]
no subject
[she's never given her family history that much thought before.]
no subject
To Sir Alec Guinness. And... possibly the Queen.

You mind telling me what you're doing?
no subject
Be cool, Felicity, be cool. She straightens a bit as she stands, before taking a breath and turning to face the other woman. Ditzy socialite is a go (bluff check: 10) and it's not a bad socialite.
Mostly.]
Is this the way to the dinosaurs? I've always wanted to see them up close.
no subject
Right. And I'm sure the way you're checking for where the security cameras are is just to make sure they get your good side.
no subject
[She's settling into the character a little more (performance check: 15) hands landing on her hips as she gives Faye a look. She's not dressed like security.]
I totally almost got arrested like, two weeks ago and Daddy said if there were anymore close calls -- [she draws her a line across her neck and makes a choking sound.] -- totally cutting me off.
no subject
So you're risking cash for the chance to see some old dino bones? You're either a moron or... No, just a moron.
no subject
Oh, come on. Like you've never done something like this?
no subject
You're in the totally wrong section. I think it's back this way.
no subject
I knew it. Thanks for the heads up!
[and with that, she's going to take off and head towards the dinosaurs. She'll have to find a way to swing back around and come at the diamond from a different angle.]

B!
or someone, more like.
she was so focused on her cameras and alarms that she didn't see him there with her 7 spot check. he's dressed in cat burglar black, and even his skin is a dark shade that blended easily into the shadows. he glances aside at her and there's more wry humor in his eyes than fear or annoyance at being caught in the act, and his smirk seems to indicate he knows exactly why she's there, too. ]
Well.
This is embarrassing.
no subject
You can't just sneak up on people like that!
[ ... Faye already told her there's something wrong with her, you don't have to tell her again.]
no subject
no subject
For now.]
Please tell me we're not both here to steal the same thing.
no subject
no subject
Very well.
[then she sighs.]
There are lots of pretty things here. Can't you steal something else?
no subject
no subject
... The problem with making her case is she can't give away who she actually needs the money for.]
I have a buyer who will be very, very upset with me, and I need the money.
