[She's been planning this job for weeks, and tonight is the night they decide to change up the security on her. True, she can't account for when some New York socialite is going to decide to use her museum for a last minute birthday bash, but never let it be said she isn't quick on her feet. She dresses to blend in with the elite upper class without a second thought (disguise check: nat. 20) but she managed to get the gay bouncer on her first go-round as well as completely flub her cover (bluff check: crit. fail). She had to wait for the shift change for her second time at the door (bluff check: 16), which was much more fruitful.

Now she just has to make sure she doesn't get caught.

Still, she mingles throughout the party like a pro, mixing and mingling as she goes. It doesn't really matter how long at takes. At the end of the night that diamond is going to be hers.]

[She manages to slip back into the museum in the lapse between security teams. Getting back in after the party is over without alerting the guards is cake (move silently check: 17), and she eases her way through the halls with ease. She just barely makes a security camera around the diamond (spot check: 7.5), and pins herself to the far wall.

It's just a few feet further to get to her prize. Again, right now this is all about not getting caught.]

[She waits until she's a couple towns over before calling her fence from the car and finding a bar for a celebratory drink. Considering all the last minute hang ups? She herself is surprised she managed to pull that one off. Still, a job well done is a job well done, and she's ready for a beer.

She walks in, slides onto the stool in front of the bartender, and flashes him her best smile.]

Any chance you have a Guinness?

Oh. Wow. That sure is some beer right there.

Which she knew, she just didn't... intellectualize. Or something. Yep. Beer.]

Um, yeah, that's... an acquired taste.

[Felicity laughs a bit before taking a sip herself.]

Yeah, as I said -- not really sure why I like it.

Are you Irish, maybe it's an instinct to conform to stereotype?

[She takes another sip, it's less startlingly beer and maybe a little good. In any case, she's going to finish it. Because she is that stubborn.]

I think my family is Old English. So not quite Irish but possibly close enough?

[she's never given her family history that much thought before.]

Well... The Queen would say it's close enough. [Shrug. She raises her glass again, another toast.]

To Sir Alec Guinness. And... possibly the Queen.

[She grins before clinking her glass against Felicity's.]

Long live the Queen.

[Okay, this is much better than that cute loser. Good life choice, right there. Vi's a little proud of herself.]

I'm Violet, by the way. It's long for Vi.

Felicity and Violet, we sound like American Girl Dolls. Nice too meet you too.

[Felicity blinks at that for a moment before laughing.]

Wow. I guess we do. That clearly makes us awesome.

Right? Little girls will want to grow up to be us.

And carry around strange dolls created in our likeness.

You know, I could deal with that vague creepiness, to be honest. Though, I'd just want to collect the books about our hijinks.

We would totally have the best ones. Most books only have one American Girl. Ours would have two.

Right? The wacky hijinks of Felicity and her sidekick Vi.

I like partners better. We are a wacky hijinks team.

[she takes another sip of her beer, before turning back to her.]

So what brings you to London?

Uh, work. At the moment though, fleeing work. [Which makes it sound bad.] I just needed a night out on the town basically, but then I got bored after, like, ten minutes, so then I came here.

I'm just really bad at sightseeing.

[allmydreams]

Sightseeing is kind of boring. I've seen the Tower of London, it's not that impressive.

[graveflowers]

Right? I saw, um, that thing. With the thing. [Yeah, Vi, good explaining skills.] Big Ben, that clock thing. I saw that. It's just a huge clock, like what is the big deal?

Maybe Paris is more impressive. Maybe I can swing an assignment to Paris, I would be so down for baguettes.

Paris is fabulous. I love it when I get to work there.

Oh, I think the word for what I'm feeling right now is insane, seething jealousy. I want Parisian boys with baguettes and chocolate croissants... Actually, I just want the chocolate croissants....

I wonder how London does croissants.

We should find out. Do you think there are cafes open this late?

There has to be. We're not in the country, yet. Isn't the city supposed to be hopping? Maybe if we find a nightclub, there would be food around there, right, catering to the drunk Londoners?
